SHAReSupport & Help for Asylum seekers and Refugees.

We are a group of like minded people who want to do something to try and improve the lives of those who have left their homes and everything they know to escape the horrors of persecution, violence, war and oppression.

On a local level, we hope to create a support network for asylum seekers and refugees who may live near us, giving them the assistance they need to live with dignity, so that they can rebuild their lives. Offering friendship is at the heart of everything we do. The close links we have established with Asylum Link Merseyside is proving to be of mutual benefit.

We also aim to provide support further afield by giving assistance where we can, be it in the form of financial contributions or donations of clothing and food.

We have two weekly drop-ins at Centre 63 Youth Centre in Kirkby on Mondays between 9.30am and 11.30am and in Prescot at the Methodist Church Hall starting at 12pm with an English class at 1-3pm.
Come and join us where you will receive a warm welcome with a hot cup of tea or coffee and a snack.
Conversation and English vocabulary activities to help improve English are available and we sometimes have a cookery activity where basic skills can be learned and whatever we cook is shared and enjoyed by all.
We can offer advice with missed NASS payments, accessing GPs and other services as well as any other problems that may arise.
Toiletries are freely available and we can also offer help with food, clothing and transport costs.
